Labor Day weekend is bringing a packed calendar of concerts, festivals, conventions, college football, Pride celebrations and major events across Metro Atlanta, including V-103’s own 50th Anniversary Concert with Raphael Saadiq and Ari Lennox.

Bryson Tiller Takes Over Lakewood
R&B fans can start the week with Bryson Tiller, who brings his Neo Trapsoul Tour to Lakewood Amphitheatre on Wednesday, September 2.The show also features Majid Jordan, Ty Dolla $ign and Austin Millz. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Kehlani Hits Lakewood Thursday
The R&B run continues Thursday, September 3, when Kehlani brings her world tour to Lakewood Amphitheatre. Durand Bernarr, TheArti$t and WASEEL are also on the bill, with the show beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Jacquees and K Camp Keep the R&B Weekend Going
Atlanta’s own Jacquees joins K Camp for the “Us Over Dem” show at Lakewood Amphitheatre on Friday, September 4. The concert begins at 7 p.m., giving R&B fans three consecutive nights of shows at Lakewood.
Chance the Rapper Is Also in Town
Chance the Rapper brings his “Coloring Book 10 Tour” to the Coca-Cola Roxy on Thursday, September 3. The show gives Atlanta concertgoers another option during an already packed Thursday night.
V-103 Celebrates 50 Years With Raphael Saadiq and Ari Lennox
Sunday night belongs to The People’s Station. V-103 celebrates 50 years with an anniversary R&B concert featuring Raphael Saadiq and Ari Lennox at Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park on Sunday, September 6. The show begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
Atlanta Black Pride Weekend
Atlanta Black Pride returns during Labor Day weekend with several days of celebrations, parties, community events and cultural programming across the city.
Events run throughout the holiday weekend, with Pride programming beginning September 2 and continuing through Labor Day.
One of the weekend’s biggest community events is the Pure Heat Community Festival, taking place Sunday, September 6, from noon until 9 p.m. at Piedmont Park. The annual outdoor festival features entertainment, vendors, community resources and Pride celebrations.
Dragon Con Takes Over Downtown Atlanta
Expect plenty of costumes, superheroes and packed sidewalks downtown as Dragon Con returns September 3 through September 7.
The massive pop-culture convention brings together fans of science fiction, fantasy, gaming, comics, film and more. One of the weekend’s biggest traditions is the Dragon Con Parade, which steps off Saturday, September 5, at 10 a.m. along Peachtree Street.
Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival
Hip-hop fans can head to Historic Fourth Ward Park for the Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6. The free, all-ages festival celebrates Atlanta hip-hop culture with performances, DJs and community programming.
Auburn vs. Baylor at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
College football is officially back. Auburn takes on Baylor in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, September 5. The game begins at 3:30 p.m., with gates opening at 1:30 p.m.
Hamilton Returns to the Fox Theatre
If theater is more your speed, Hamilton begins a run at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, September 2. The Tony Award-winning musical will remain in Atlanta beyond Labor Day weekend, giving theater fans another option during the busy week.
Marietta Art in the Park
For a more relaxed family outing, the 40th annual Art in the Park returns to Historic Marietta Square from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7. The free festival features more than 200 artists, a children’s art area, sidewalk chalk activities and shopping and dining around the Square.
Labor Day Weekend Lasershow at Stone Mountain
Stone Mountain Park is also celebrating Labor Day weekend with its Laser show and extended fireworks finale from September 5 through September 7.
TAKE MARTA
With Dragon Con, Atlanta Black Pride, multiple major concerts, college football and Labor Day festivals happening at the same time, traffic and crowds are expected throughout the city.
MARTA says it will provide additional rail service over the weekend and is encouraging riders to use transit for several major events.
