We now know who will serve as the designated hitter for the Atlanta Braves in the World Series: Jorge Soler.
The Braves announced their full lineup ahead of Game 1 against the Houston Astros tonight with just some slight changes.
Soler was available for games five and six of the NLCS last week after returning from the COVID-19 injured list, but there was simply no room. Now, he'll be batting as the Braves DH. However, he'll be batting first.
Eddie Rosario, the National League Championship Series MVP, has moved from lead-off to the fifth spot. He's averaging .474/.524/.789 in 10 postseason games this year and became one of only five players to record 14 home runs in a postseason series.
Dansby Swanson moved to the ninth hole which could serve the Braves well as a de facto second lead-off man.
Note: The designated hitter will only be used in the games played in Houston (Games 1 and 2, and if necessary, Games 6 and 7). The DH will not be used in any of the games played here in Atlanta.
