Braves have their own 'Mr. reliable' in Chris Sale
“He’s just a machine out there,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said of Atlanta Braves pitcher, Chris Sale, on Thursday as he and cohost, Mike Bell were joined by Braves’ Insider, Grant McAuley following Atlanta’s 6-5 win over the San Diego Padres, in which Sale struck out 11 Padres’ batters while allowing just three runs on five hits through six innings pitched.
“He is,” McAuley said in response to Dukes’ comments on Sale. “If you watched the game, watched him pitch, you know how dialed in he was,” McAuley continued on Sale, who’s three earned came early on in the game during the top of the second inning. “To watch Chris Sale continue to do what he does, this is where the Braves are right now, they need to win on days when pitches,” McAuley said.
Sale currently has an 11-6 record with a 2.19 earned run average and ranks 11th in total strike outs this season. “He has pretty much put this rotation on his back and continues to be the guy that you can depend on every time he goes up to the mound and I don’t see that changing any time soon,” McAuley said.Chris Sale continues to carry Braves starting rotation
