Can Braves afford to wait on Ian Anderson to return to form?

Around the yard with 92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves insider Grant McAuley as he joined Dukes & Bell for his daily appearance on the show and talked about the struggles of Ian Anderson and can the team afford to wait for him to right the ship?

When asked about Ian Anderson’s struggles.

“We’ve seen him have a lot of success in his early call up, we’ve seen him have a lot of success in October but if you’re making your postseason rotation right now it’s not somebody that you’re handing the ball to in the biggest games,” McAuley said. “Now fortunately we’re talking about July but the flip side of that coin is if you want to get to October you need to win your games in July, August, and September and he has been in a rough stretch for a while.”

McAuley said he thinks the Braves might be looking for help with the starting rotation.

“I think that Alex Anthopoulos, if he wasn’t already which I have a stinking suspicion he’s always looking and always making calls is probably trying to find ways to fortify this rotation a bit. Because as much good as Kyle Wright and Spencer Strider have done to fortify and solidify it, Ian Anderson has become a bit of a question mark this year. While the best case scenario for the time being until now was for him to figure it out, I do think you kinda have to shift perspectives here if they haven’t already and see if there is a move out there to make this team better.”
