While a lot of NFL Draft analysts have said this draft is deep with good edge rushers they have followed that up with there don’t seem to be any great edge rushers in this draft either. Earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Dallas Turner doesn’t have to be Myles Garrett, TJ Watt, or a generational talent in his rookie season to be a good player.
“I don’t understand any push back on Dallas Turner. I also think he can do a caveat of things, he’s a three down player. He is not a guy that is just coming in to rush the passer that to me is a lot of value.” Beau Morgan said
Mike Johnson played Devil’s advocate with Beau by saying Dallas Turner is not a “pass rush specialist” but a “defender who can rush the passer”.
Beau finished off the conversation by making the point that even if Dallas Turner can get the Falcons 10 sacks a season that’s something they haven’t had in a long time. If the Falcons do draft Dallas Turner with the eighth overall pick, and bring in arguably the best defender in the draft there shouldn’t be too much blow back about that.
