On Tuesday Andy & Randy reacted to the new contract signed by De’Andre Hunter to stay with the Atlanta Hawks for four years to the tune of $95 million. Hunter played in 53 games last season while averaging 13.4 points and a career best 37.9 percent from 3.

The Hawks get their season started at State Farm Arena Wednesday (tomorrow) night against the Houston Rockets. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. with pregame starting at 7 on 92.9 The Game.

Hawks fans, and media alike, are very much looking forward to the addition of Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs as the Hawks look to get back to the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond this season.

Randy explained how De’Andre Hunter, and not Trae Young nor Dejounte Murray, is the key to the Hawks' success in the 2022-2023 season.

“He is the key man," Randy stated. "Of course Trae (Young) and them are going to do their thing. He is the key, his health is the key. I know the last time we saw him play he was outstanding in that game against the Miami Heat. We need that. The Hawks need that from him."

Randy went on to talk about how he needs Hunter to stay healthy, average 18-plus points per game and be that two-way player we have seen.

Andy went on to talk about how this core is locked up now for the Hawks and how this is the group for the foreseeable future in Atlanta.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
