Lloyd Pierce has been relieved of his duties as the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. There a myriad of reasons for these actions. A reasonable person can point to all of the letdowns in the fourth quarter of games.
Another reason could be how, at times, this team absolutely looked lost on defense in clutch situations. Mike Conti, of the Hawks Radio Network, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to give some insight into the firing of Lloyd Pierce.
"If you lose your locker room, you have no hope," Conti said. Having issues on the court is one thing, but if there is just a small hint that Pierce lost the locker room, then it was time to make the move.
Now that Pierce is out of the picture, in comes interim head coach Nate McMillan. The Hawks have two games remaining before the All-Star break. Hopefully, McMillan can help get this team back on track to try to make a playoff run.
