Does Acuña’s hit by pitch deserve retaliation next series vs. Mets?

The Morning Shift debates whether or not the Braves should give the Mets a taste of their own medicine

Beau Morgan doesn’t hold back when giving his thoughts on Ronald Acuña Jr. getting beaned by the New York Mets on Monday.

“You’re better off saving this junk for June," said Morgan. "And when they’re not suspecting it just hit Alonso in between the two and the zero on his back. And I hope it’s Spencer Strider that does it.”

Mike Johnson also agrees that retaliation has to happen next time the Braves see the Mets because if it doesn't Acuña will continue to get hit because of his home run celebrations.

However, Tiffany Blackmon thinks retaliation will only lead to a brawl and/or suspensions because even though more than a month would have passed since the incident she believes the teams and Major League Baseball won’t forget about what happened Monday, and further retaliation will only make things worse, and could ultimately cause some Braves players to miss time.

Time will tell if Snitker and the Braves decide to take the high road or give the Mets a taste of their own medicine. The Braves will be at home next time they battle their division rival, so if they do retaliate they will at least know they will have the support of their home fans.
