Drake London's draft selection forms an unlikely reunion in Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcon's eighth pick in the NFL Draft brings an unlikely reunion to Atlanta as wide receiver Drake London is paired with USC basketball teammate Onyeka Okongwu

There is an unlikely reunion that's about to take place in Atlanta after the Falcons select wide receiver Drake London with their eighth overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, but not in the way that you might think.

The 6-5 London brought a great deal to the football field in his time in the City of Angels, but he also spent some time on the hardwood as a member of the USC Trojans basketball team.

He comes to the Falcons to play in the same city as his USC basketball teammate Onyeka Okongwu, who's a center for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks.

The pair played alongside one another in the 2019-2020 season, although the latter clearly saw a career in that sport. Fortunately, London is pretty darn good at football, too. The rangy wide receiver finished the 2021 season with 88 catches for 1,084 yards, and seven scores in only eight games.

Both were top-10 picks for their respective teams, so it's safe to say both guys made the right choice.
