The Falcons defensive line has been an area of weakness for the team for a while now, but this season looks to be different. Atlanta’s d-line seemed to shine and even dominate in the team’s joint practices with the Miami Dolphins.

National NFL Reporter for the NFL Network, Cameron Wolfe joined The Morning Shift earlier today and talked about the Falcons defense winning in the trenches.

“I think one thing that really excited me is that they won a lot of the battles in the trenches. This is a Dolphins team that has a lot of speed, but over those two days it looked like the Falcons, particularly the Falcons defensive line, had some advantages against the Dolphins offensive line.”

It’s refreshing to hear that the Falcons are winning battles in the trenches, and with the team only sacking the quarterback 21 times last season, you figure with the talent Atlanta has added on defense and the defensive line that number has nowhere to go but up.

Wolfe also told The Morning Shift that “I’m getting excited about the Falcons in a way that I don’t think I've been in a few years.”

With the additions of Calais Campbell, David Onyemata, Bud Dupree, and Kaden Ellis plus what the Falcons already have on the defensive line in Grady Jarrett, Timmy Horne, and Taquon Graham, how can you not be excited about what the pass rush and defensive line of this team could be this season.
