It’s simply to early to try and define how good of a coach Raheem Morris is as he heads into his second season as the Atlanta Falcons head coach, which was the topic of discussion on The Steakhouse Wednesday morning as Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden shared their thoughts on what factors play a role in defining whether or not a coach is considered good or not.
“It is fascinating how coaches are treated in every sport, but particularly in the NFL and Raheem Morris is taking a lot of heat,” Shapiro said as he and Golden discussed some of the fire Morris found himself under following what would eventually be a let down season for the Falcons. “Some of it unfair,” Shapiro continued as he explained why he believes there has not been adequate time to evaluate Morris’ as performance as head coach.
As their conversation continued, Shapiro and Golden revisited former Falcons coaches and shared thoughts on their respective careers overall, agreeing that they had all proven along the way they indeed are good football coaches, however their time in Atlanta may have or may not have been satisfactory for ownership and fans.
“Just because Raheem Morris sometimes doesn’t get to the point doesn’t mean that he’s not a leader of men,” Shapiro said as he noted Morris getting a second chance to be an NFL head coach is not a coincidence.
“Let’s what he’s going to do moving forward,” Shapiro added.
