Despite being named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 15 and having a fairly productive season thus far, Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts will still probably not get re-signed by the Falcons this offseason, and The Morning Shift explained why earlier today.
“There’s too many questions around Kyle Pitts for me to say oh gotta bring him back. I don’t know the quarterback, I don't know the system, I don’t know the coaches, I don't know any of this stuff.” Mike Johnson said
Without knowing if Michael Penix Jr. is going to be ready to play week one, or if the Falcons will need to pay a high end back up quarterback to start some games to start the season, without knowing if Zac Robinson or Raheem Morris will be back next season or not, and with the Falcons needing to extend Drake London and re-sign other Falcons who are more important to keep on the team the Falcons do have way too many unknowns coming up this offseason to bring back a tight end who has been inconsistent in his five years with the Falcons at best
