Atlanta United made their most significant move since the opening of the MLS transfer window on Tuesday morning when they announced they are adding attacking midfielder Alexey Miranchuk of the Russian National Team and the club Atalanta in Italy's Serie A. After the move became official, Atlanta United CEO Garth Lagerwey joined Andy and Randy and could not contain his excitement.
"I will say, we are back baby" proclaims Garth Lagerwey. "We had to rebuild this a little bit, but we're back. Miranchuk is an elite chance-creator, one of the top guys in the top-5 leagues in Europe. Not only an exciting player but also a prime age guy."
Lagerwey added that the team hopes to have Mirnachuk available for the next MLS match, in Los Angeles against the Galaxy on August 24.
