The free agent rumors continue to surround the Atlanta Hawks with the latest report from Kevin O'Connor and Marc Stein saying the Hawks will be in "pole position" to sign Oklahoma City Thunder Danilo Gallinari and Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo in free agency.
“I heard [the Hawks] are going after Danilo Gallinari," O'Connor said on The Ringer's Instagram live. "I’ve heard they very well may be signing Danilo Gallinari as soon as free agency opens."
On Tuesday, it was rumored that Atlanta would also make a big pushes to sign Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward and Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Harris.
With free agency set to begin on Nov. 20, all signs have pointed towards the Hawks trying to bolster their young roster as much as possible with talent to make a playoff push in 2020-21.
Gallinari, 32, has been one of the league's most consistent scorers since being drafted sixth overall in 2008.
Gallinari has spent time with the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers before he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder last season as part of the Paul George trade.
In 62 games last year, Gallinari averaged 18.7 points per game on 43 percent shooting. Throughout his 12 year career, he's averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
While multiple reports have confirmed the interest Atlanta has in Gallinari, Matt Babcock also reported that the Dallas Mavericks are discussing a potential sign-and-trade deal for the forward.
Rondo, a two-time NBA champion and four-time all-star is coming off a championship run with the Lakers and has already been rumored to eye the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency.
At 34, Rondo is coming off a year where he averaged 7.1 points and 5.0 assist per game and played in all 16 playoff games for the Lakers.
