Falcons add veteran leadership and consistency with Nick Folk

When asking what went wrong for the Atlanta Falcons in 2025, you may hear answers which include former head coach, Raheem Morris and his staff needing to be held accountable, to on the field performances by players, including former kickers Younghoe Koo, Parker Romo and Zane Gonzalez, who combined for seven missed field goals last season.

Fast forward to now and the Falcons’ special teams’ unit includes all new kickers, including veteran, Nick Folk, who signed as a free agent back in March, and joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and explained what led to his decision to bring his veteran experience of 18 years to Atlanta.

“I enjoyed the staff. I have a good relationship with Craig [Aukerman] and Chase [Blackburn] from my time in Tennessee,” Folk said. “We had good conversations,” Folk continued as he discussed why his time with the Falcons new special teams coaches was pivotal in signing with the Falcons. “It was just kind of the right fit at the right time,” Folk, who has missed a combined three field goals the past three seasons, said.
