Philadelphia forward/center Joel Embiid didn't win the NBA's MVP Award this season, but he's played like one through the first two games of the second-round series between the Hawks and 76ers.
Despite being limited by a meniscus injury, Embiid put up 39 points in a Game 1 loss and improved upon that with a 40-point effort in the 76ers Game 2 victory.
The Hawks have tried multiple defenders on Embiid but simply haven't figured out how to slow him down offensively.
One possible solution might come on the other end of the floor as Embiid plays defense.
If the Hawks can force Embiid to be more active defensively, especially away from the rim, that could take away from the energy he has available on offense.
That task would likely fall on John Collins, who could stretch the floor and force Embiid to defend him in space if he can get hot.
So far Collins has been a slight disappointment in this second round series, but that can all be forgotten with a few big performances at home.
Hawks fans do feel that it may fall on Collins to perform if the Hawks are going to get past the 76ers.
