
We continue to celebrate the 50 years of a groundbreaking, culture-shifting movement of Hip-Hop, so we’re back with more from Hip-Hop Made and we’ve got the legendary Jermaine Dupri to share what he believes this 50 year anniversary represents.

From record producer to songwriter to rapper and more, Dupri is quite literally a jack of all trades when it comes to the music industry and especially in Hip-Hop.
He shared that this anniversary “feels almost like a graduation,” as he and many others in the game have been learning and perfecting their crafts throughout the years. “Us celebrating is almost like the graduation of those that’s been in the training,” he said.

Like so many others, “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugarhill Gang was the first song that made him fall in love with Hip-Hop, “I don’t even know why I memorized the rap but I definitely memorized 'Rapper’s Delight.'”

Talking about the impact of Hip-Hop, Dupri had to preface by saying it might sound a little crazy but when he was on Instagram he saw white girls dancing in a way that he wasn’t used to seeing back in the day.
“They was actually really really dancing and I was like damn, look what Hip-Hop done did to the world. When I was coming up white girls wasn’t dancing like this, so to see it and see them really really throwing it, I was like damn look at Hip-Hop,” he shared.
