The Falcons traded the veteran quarterback to the Indianapolis Colts for a third-round pick. The move comes on the heels of Atlanta losing out on the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes.

Atlanta wasted no time finding Ryan's replacement, at least for the 2022 season, signing Marcus Mariota to a two-year, $18.75 million deal.

Obviously, the Falcons will be looking for their quarterback of the future; will it be in this year's draft or next? NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche joined the Midday Show on Tuesday and he had some interesting observations being at Liberty's Pro Day.

"I'm down here at the Liberty University Pro Day. Of course everyone's looking at quarterback Malik Willis, and everybody's here including the Falcons," Wyche told Andy and Randy.

Does it become more likely the Falcons draft a quarterback after yesterday's events?

"I don't know if it's likely...but if it's someone they like--if it's someone that they can project to be their future quarterback--and with the system Arthur Smith runs, I mean it could be."

"Malik is someone who they look at as a developmental guy, and he's someone who would run the same scheme as Marcus Mariota so there's that part. But, do they want to get in on that now; have a rookie quarterback in place so next year when they have all that salary cap money, they can really go about building a team to support him if he's the guy--if he's ready to go after the season."
