While the Atlanta Falcons have been the center of national conversations as a result of their defensive performance in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings in which they totaled six sacks and two interceptions and have a +3-turnover ratio with four takeaways to one fumble lost, Wednesday Atlanta head coach Raheem Morris made a comment in regards to Bijan Robinson that started a new conversation.
“He’s definitely the best player in football, without a doubt,” Morris said on Wednesday when speaking with media at Flowery Branch, as he praised Robinson for his style of play and explained the reasoning for his “best” comments. On Thursday, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell discussed Morris’ statement on Robinson shared their thoughts on whether or not they have merit.
“Guys, this vibe is going around the country. There are people who are watching Bijan Robinson and saying, ‘Atlanta’s got something really special,’” Dukes said, noting that while it is yet to be determined how many yards and touchdowns Robinson will finish the year with, if the belief is that the third year running back is comparable to Saquon Barkley, then Morris’ statement is warranted.
“Then you also must put him in this category. If you don’t think he’s the best yet because he hasn’t done this, that’s fine, but he can do everything Saquon can do Mike,” Dukes said as he made his case for why Robinson may be deserving of being in “best” conversations.
