The Atlanta Falcons once again found themselves front and center of the sports media world after they were reported to have agreed to sign quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa after he was released by the Miami Dolphins on Monday, when the NFL’s legal tampering period began, and as expected, the news was met with mixed reviews among Falcons’ fans and national media.

On Tuesday, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell, who both expressed concerns with Tagovailoa’s injury history, were joined by Falcons Radio Network analyst and former Falcons quarterback, Dave Archer, who explained that while concerns with Tagovailoa are valid, there is room for some optimism in regards to his potential addition to Atlanta.

“It certainly spells that there’s going to be, I would think, some competition in camp,” Archer said as he shared why he believes Falcons President Matt Ryan, general manager Ian Cunningham and head coach Kevin Stefanski have expressed wanting to bring in a quarterback to compete with Michael Penix Jr.

“When you look at him play and you look at his numbers, you see a guy that’s a very talented passer,” Archer continued as he shared why he believes “there’s a lot of good stuff to hang your hat on there,” in regards to Tagovailoa joining the Falcons quarterback room.
