Trae Young is set to enter free agency next offseason if he chooses to do so (has a player option), and so an extension from the Hawks could be offered to him soon, especially with some new hires in the front office, but does that offer have to be a max deal for Trae to stay in Atlanta.
Zach Lowe of The Ringer suggests Atlanta should look to extend Trae for less than the max, but Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael on The Midday Show aren't sure he'd consider that deal without one specific caveat.
"If I'm Trae and we're going to have these conversations, what are you going to do to make me take less than the max," questions Randy McMichael.
"The only way I'm taking less than the max if I'm Trae is if you're going to have a max guy that's better than me," answers Andy Bunker.
