24 hours prior to the 2025 NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks made a significant move in a three team trade in which they acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the Boston Celtics. And while trade cannot be official until the new league year begins on July 6th, the move signifies the Hawks have serious intentions about building a team that is a contender.
"We're just going to go after the best player available," Hawks general manager, Onsi Saleh told 92-9 The Game's Carl Duke and Mike Bell Wednesday ahead of the draft as he shared the Hawks' thought process in regards to the type of player they look to add with the 13th overall pick.
"Somebody that fits within the ethos of what we're trying to build here, someone to help grow with our group because we are one of the younger teams in the league," Saleh said as he explained what Atlanta will be looking for in prospects available when their selection comes.
