The Atlanta Braves announced on Monday that Orlando Arcia will be the team’s starting shortstop on Opening Day with both Vaughn Grissom and Braden Shewmake being optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. Dukes & Bell discussed the team’s decision.
“Why? At-bats," said Carl Dukes. "I don’t need to see Vaughn Grissom sitting on the bench and not getting at-bats. Even though it sounds weird, they really like both of these guys.
"But if you make this decision you feel really good about Arcia. And remember, he’s a young guy, he’s not 35.”
