Pete Alonso was hit int ht wrist area by a high and tight fastball from Charlie Morton in his first at-bat of Wednesday night's matchup with the Braves, and was forced to leave the game.

The hit by pitch came on an 0-1 fastball with the catcher setting up on the inner half, but it sailed and hit Alonso, who walked towards first base but eventually left the field with the training staff and Buck Showalter.

Alonso homered in Tuesday night's series opener, then yelled out to Braves starter Bryce Elder to throw the same pitch next time he was at the plate. Elder shrugged off the incident after the game, a 6-4 win for Atlanta.

Alonso holds the league lead with 22 home runs and 49 RBI, while holding an .869 OPS.
