Both the National League and American League currently have runaways in the MVP race as Shoehei Ohtahni and Ronald Acuña Jr. are both dominating in the first half of the MLB season.

While looking at these two superstars, John Fricke posed the question to Randy McMichael, which one is better right now?

Ronald Acuña Jr. is 2nd in the majors with a .330 batting average, to go along with 19 home runs (17th), 35 stolen bases (2nd), Gold Glove defense, and multiple outfield assists. It's pretty straightforward, Acuña Jr. is (at a minimum) the best outfielder in baseball.

As far as what Ohtani has done, he leads all of baseball in HR's (28) and RBI (64) at the plate, and is 3rd in strikeouts, 7th in WHIP, and 15th in ERA across the major leagues.

With some similar power numbers from the plate, the real question is does what Acuña Jr. provides defensively and on the base-paths outweigh the value Ohatani gives you as a starting pitcher?
