Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) is making it clear how he will vote when the Judiciary Committee decides whether to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as a member of the Supreme Court. She would be the first Black female to sit on the nation's highest court.
In an exclusive interview with Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton, Ossoff says he will be voting to confirm Jackson, calling the federal judge, "an extraordinarily qualified legal-mind jurist."
As for how Jackson was treated during her confirmation hearing last week, Ossoff says "I tried to focus my questions on matters of substance, unfortunately not all of my colleagues did that." He goes on to say that "some were downright disrespectful in their approach to the hearings."
Republican senators were oftentimes brutal in their treatment and questioning of Judge Jackson. They challenged her intellect and merit.
Ossoff questioned Jackson for nearly an hour in the hearing on March 23rd.
The committee is set to vote on Judge Jackson's nomination on April 4th, one week from today.
