The Atlanta Braves head into their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates 31 games over the .500 mark. They also have a ten-game lead in the NL East, so it’s hard to argue a team that good could have many flaws. One issue, however, has been the rollercoaster second half for All-Star pitcher Bryce Elder.
Elder has not been the same since the break, and gave up five earned runs in the bottom of the first inning after only recording one out. Dukes & Bell say it’s time to be concerned about his game.
“Elder I have to be honest, I was at his start in Tampa, he wobbled a bit and he has not been good in three of his last four starts,” Mike Bell explained.
“What happens with Elder? Do you trust him moving forward,” Carl Dukes questioned?
Elder has given up at least five earned runs in three of his last five appearances.
