De'Andre Hunter has been unlocked. Coming off the bench has revitalized his career and made him a serious candidate for Sixth-Man of the Year. He also has a manageable contract with $23 and $24 million owed over the next two seasons. Should the Hawks sell high on their now valuable piece?
Hunter failed to find consistency in a starting role for the team but has reportedly been able to see the game in a different light since moving to a bench player. His value to a contending team could be enormous with his ability to be a versatile defender while scoring nearly 20 points a night. The question becomes if the Hawks view his play as repeatable for years to come or if this spark will fade over time.
With Jalen Johnson out for the season it remains to be seen if the team will add or subtract before Thursday's NBA Trade Deadline.
