The Atlanta Hawks have been pummeled by injuries ever since the first day of the 2020-2021 season. So when the news came out about Deandre Hunter possibly being out for the next 7-10 weeks, it was something that the city of Atlanta has become used to.
It has been hard to get a good gage as to what this team can because they haven't fielded a fully healthy team all season. Head coach Lloyd Pierce has been tasked with having to make a lot of adjustments because he has been so shorthanded.
Chris Kirschner, of the Athletic, joined the Jon Chuckery show discussed what the Hawks have been dealing with early on in the season. "This is a team that spent big money in the offseason in free agency and they really haven't gotten much production out of any of these guys" Kirschner said.
With the lack of production coming from the guys that were brought in, it's a wonder how the Hawks currently sit as the 7th seed in the eastern conference.
The young core has definitely stepped up for the Hawks, but at some point during the season, they are going to have to start seeing some return on their investment.
