This past weekend, Atlanta Hawks All-Star, Trae Young posted a video to his Tik Tok account of himself working out alongside Golden State Warriors All-Star, Steph Curry, with the caption, ‘to be the best, you must first LEARN from the best,” as the two went through various basketball related workout routines. On Friday during the Dukes and Bell, with Rob Tribble sitting in for Carl Dukes, both Tribble and Mike Bell stated that they ‘had no problem’ seeing Young working out with Curry, something he has done in the past, as noted by Hawks CEO, Steve Koonin, who joined Bell and Tribble on Friday to talk Hawks basketball.
“I think it’s great and I think that one of the things that Steph does better than anybody else is move without the ball. Continently moving, continently creating angles and if Trae can train with him, which it’s not the first time he has, and pick up some secrets of the craft, I think it’s nothing but good,” Koonin said in response to Bell asking why, if anyone, would have a problem seeing Young training with Curry.
As the Hawks CEO continued to speak on the matter, he shared with Tribble and Bell that Young is ‘hungry, he wants to return to this city,’ and that in addition to training with Curry, Young has also been putting in some practice time with teammate, Dejounte Murray. “I’m excited about the season and I love what Trae is out there doing. He’s trying to be better and that’s all you can ever ask anybody to so, is to continue to try to work on their craft,” Koonin added.
