D. Orlando Ledbetter joined Dukes & Bell Monday to talk about Atlanta Falcons rookie minicamp and told the guys what a Falcons defense might look like under new defensive coordinator Dean Pees?
“He’s going to try to play from the back to the front, where the defensive backs have the mentality keep the ball in front of you go get the quarterback, stop the run, moves some folks around,” said Ledbetter. “Everybody’s doing that now. Yeah, they’re going to come out 3-4 against the run and then they’re going to try to match up when people go to 11.
“They’re going to have to play some zones, and they’re going to have to play some man, they got to blitz out of different formations. So he’ll have a standard nickel, a big dime, a big nickel with a safety, a dime with six guys, he’s not reinventing football but it’ll be interesting to see how he moves his guys around.”
