Braves' bullpen is fine; here's why Acuña's health is a bigger issue

On Monday Andy & Randy talked about the Atlanta Braves losing 2 out of 3 games to the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend and highlighted what they saw as the two biggest issues of the weekend: the health of Ronald Acuña's knee and the struggles fans saw from the relief pitchers out of the bullpen in the 2 loses.

Andy & Randy both agreed that what happened to the bullpen over the weekend, which included getting walked-off in the bottom of the 9th on both Saturday and Sunday, does just happen from time-to-time throughout the course of a 162 game regular season.

“Ronald Acuña definitely because when you look at the bullpen and Kenley Jansen and A.J. (Minter)…that stuff happens,” Randy replied when asked if he is more worried about Acuña or the bullpen right now.

“Watching him run the bases on the last out he had just made me think ‘uh-oh’,” Randy added.

“It seems that is just kind of going to be the deal for the remainder of the season with that knee,” Andy added.

Both guys think that what Acuña is currently dealing with is a bigger issue at the moment but that it’s more important that the bullpen be ready to roll in the postseason over Acuña being healthy.
