The NFL season officially kicked off on Thursday with the Hall of Fame game, the Falcons are wrapping up another week of training camp, high school football scrimmages have begun in Georgia and Georgia Tech and the Georgia Bulldogs are now less than a month away from their first games of the season, signaling that football season is here. Add to the mix that the Braves are very much positioned to end up in the playoffs, if you are an Atlanta sports fan, this fall may be an exciting one for you.

On Friday, Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden took a look into the future and previewed the upcoming schedules for the Falcons, Yellow Jackets and Bulldogs, in particularly, the month of October, and shared their thoughts on some of the match ups that each team has throughout the month. Most notable was the weekend of October 19, as Georgia will be in Austin to take on Texas, while Georgia Tech will face Notre Dame the same day in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which will have to be flipped for the Falcons to host Seattle the next day.

And while the football season will be in full swing during that time, the MLB Championship Series could still be taking place that weekend and Steak believes Atlanta fans could be in store for an exciting time. “Think about October 19th, we have to cover Georgia, Texas and then Notre Dame is rolling into town (to play Georgia Tech), which will be a sellout,….you have to flip the building and get it ready for the Falcons and Seahawks,” Shapiro said as he laid out what the weekend could look like for Atlanta sports.
