Audacy.com NBA insider Ryan McDonough joined Dukes & Bell to talk about tonight’s Hawks-Bucks game 5 and should the Hawks protect Trae Young if it’s not in his best interest to play while injured?
McDonough talked about how the Hawks must protect Trae Young from further injury.
“With a player, especially a young player like Trae Young, keep in mind he’s eligible for a contract extension this offseason, and I think that will be a pretty easy max contract coming, with that in mind you have to protect the player,” McDonough said. “Basically the front office’s responsibility in my opinon is to make sure Trae Young, his family, his agent and everyone around his is comfortable especially if he does decide to play and there is some risk.”
“What is the risk if you were to get more significantly injured, what would that then mean, and how could we do everything we can if he is going to try play to avoid that, those are the conversations.”
