There are two big questions the Falcons need to answer this off-season - Who is the next head coach going to be, and what is that coach going to do with the quarterback position? It looks like one move could provide an answer to both.
While Bill Belichick is reportedly scheduled to have his second interview with the Falcons over the weekend, it's the comments from free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins should pique the interest of Falcons fans.
In an interview with CBS Sports, Cousins praised Belichick as a great coach, saying that "I'm not going to turn down an opportunity to play with a future Hall of Fame coach, but we'll have to see where March leads."
Cousins missed the last half of the Minnesota Vikings 2023 season after tearing his Achilles in a Week 8 matchup with the Packers. In his six seasons with the Vikings, he threw for over 4000 yards in four of them. He made three Pro Bowls during his Vikings tenure (2019, 2021, 2022).
With the Falcons looking for an upgrade at the quarterback position, Kirk Cousins would be an instant impact starter, but at a bit of a price. His last deal in Minnesota was one year for 35 million.
