Braves look to have won trade deadline with Tyler Mahle
When the Atlanta Braves came out of the 2026 Major League Baseball trade deadline, the additions of Brent Suter, Lane Thomas, and Tyler Mahle were moves believed by some to be considered less than desirable, particularly in regards to the pitching additions.
Fast forward to present time and Mahle has allowed just five earned runs, 24 hits, five walks and has struck out 32 through 30.1 innings pitched, posting a 1.48 earned run average and when asked if he knew was getting “this Tyler Mahle,” Atlanta Braves President, Baseball Operations and General Manager, Alex Anthopoulos, had one simple answer.
“Hell no,” Anthopoulos said on Monday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and shared his thoughts on how well Mahle has pitched since joining the Braves. “Did we think he was good, yes, did we think he’d be better, absolutely,” Anthopoulos said of Mahle, explaining that while he understood the criticism the Braves received for their trade transactions, ultimately, he believed “we got better at the deadline."Tyler Mahle proving to be the steal of the trade deadline for Braves
