Braves look for Austin Riley to turn things around offensively
The 2026 MLB All-Star festivities have wrapped up and the Atlanta Braves can officially reset for the regular season to resume when they begin a three-game series with the Texas Rangers on Friday. And while the Braves entered the break leading the National League East, what was once a ten and a half game lead, dwindled down to just two games as Atlanta slumped during the month of June.
“I have one question starting Friday. Is he going to hit”? 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes asked as he and cohost Mike Bell discussed the Braves and Dukes explained why he hopes to see Austin Riley, who is batting .207 on the season and was 16 of 80 at the plate in the month of June, become a bigger contributor once Atlanta gets back to action.
“For everybody that says, ‘well what about this, that and the other,’ how much better would this offense be for a guy that’s been available all season, been available to play, been available to be in this line up day in and day out to do what we expect him to do. How incredible would this offense be,” Dukes said. “For me, Austin Riley, can I get what’s on the back of your baseball card for once this season,” Dukes asked.Can Austin Riley get hot at the plate once season resumes?
