Earlier today The Morning Shift recapped and reacted to the Atlanta Braves’ 5-4 comeback win over the Washington Nationals last night, talked about Austin Riley getting the night off and not being in the lineup, and explained why they think if Riley doesn't play tonight it could mean that he may be on the trade block

“If he’s not playing today then if I was him then I would start looking at movers because if he’s not playing today then to me that means that they’re trying to move him.” Beau Morgan said

The 2026 MLB trade deadline is Monday at 6 PM, so if the Braves are going to make any moves it’s going to happen soon. Now, it’s unlikely that the Braves will trade Austin Riley, not only because they probably still value him and see him as his their long term third baseman, but he’s also struggled so much this season that his value is probably the lowest it’s ever been. However, if he doesn’t play today then we may have seen Austin Riley play his last game in a Braves uniform.
