Tony Hawk celebrated the “circles (wheels?)” of life in a recent post with his grandson, also wishing the baby boy’s other grandfather, late rock icon Kurt Cobain, was here to meet and hold the five-month-old in another.

“Went straight from S.U.A.S. [Shut Up and Skate] event at Houston Skatepark to this concert in 1991,” Hawk wrote on his Instagram Stories atop a snap of the concert ticket from the October 1991 Nirvana show at the no-longer Houston, TX venue, The Vatican. “It was as transformative as live music can possibly be; we all experienced something rare and powerful that night. The world would never be the same,” he continued.
“I wish Kurt were here so he could see the incredible woman his daughter has become, meet her devoted, caring husband, and hold our wondrous grandchild,” Hawk concluded.
In addition to his sentiments about Kurt on his IG story, Hawk also recently shared a photo of himself sitting on top of a skateboard while holding his grandson Ronin (who’s face is concealed by a baby emoji), captioned, “What happens when all of your kids can skate on their own and no longer rely on you to give them rides? You wait until they have their own kids. Circles (wheels?) of life.”
Tony’s son Riley and Kurt’s daughter Frances Bean married in October 2023. The couple welcomed their son, Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, nearly a year later on September 17th, 2024.
