Cam Newton may be closer to getting back into the NFL.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the quarterback is now vaccinated.
While it wasn't the sole reason he was released by the Patriots at the end of training camp, it certainly didn't help his cause, especially when it came to being a backup.
It doesn't seem like a signing is imminent, but if a team loses a quarterback for an extended period of time, Newton becomes more of a viable option.
