
An Executive Order issued by Mayor Keshia Lance Bottoms directs the City of Atlanta Chief Financial Officer, Roosevelt Council Jr., to utilize 88 million dollars in CARES Act Funding for necessary expenditures not accounted for in the most recently approved budget. The funds will cover any expenses incurred between March 1 and December 31, 2020, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Proposed uses for the funds are related to public health measures, medical expenses, eviction and homeless prevention assistance, assistance to small businesses, and other items. The United States House of Representatives passed the CARES Act by voice vote on March 27, 2020.
