The Rashad Richey Morning Show sits down with City of Stonecrest (DeKalb County, GA) Mayor Jason Lary and Councilwoman Jazzmin Cobble to discuss recent controversy in the city stemming from a lawsuit and filed temporary restraining order.

The mayor initially filed suit against the councilwoman for missing 2 regularly scheduled council meetings. According to Mayor Lary, Councilwoman Cobble was in violation of the city charter. The city later filed a notice of dismissal without prejudice on Tuesday, February 18th in the civil action case against Councilwoman Jazzmin Cobble.  The city sought a declaratory judgment to interpret the provision of the city’s charter, which states a councilmember forfeits their seat by failing to attend one-third of the meetings in three months. Cobble supporters argue that the language in the charter is ambiguous at best and does not allow for removal of a duly elected public official.

Mayor Jason Lary says, "stay in your lane, you legislate, I administrate"

Councilwoman Jazzmin Cobble says, "I pray we can put our personal issues aside, and do whats best for the city"
