Mr. Grosse, portraying Bishop W.C. Martin in the film set in East Texas, discussed the true story of Martin and his wife, Donna, who adopted 77 children from foster care. He emphasized the personal connection he developed with Bishop Martin, meeting him and immersing himself in the community of Possum Trot to accurately portray the character.
