Bobi Wine and Christopher Sharp of the National Geographic Documentary Film: Bobi Wine: The People's President joined On Point with Juandolyn Stokes to learn about the work of Wine, a musician turned politician who used his music to fight the oppressive regime of Uganda.
In 2021, Wine ran in the presidential election and used his music to denounce the dictatorship of Uganda and speak on behalf of the people who were left suffer.
"I was a musician and transformed music to edutainment," said Wine.
Sharp, who was also born in Uganda has always had a deep appreciation for the Ugandan people, culture, and its extraordinary beauty. He is the director of this powerful production.
"Bobi stood up to government using music to protest injustice," said Sharp.
