What is it?
The XT6 is Cadillac's all-new for '20 three-row SUV.
One size smaller…but nothing like their larger Escalade.
Three-row / seven passenger seating, heated leather, heated steering, 20" alloys, sunroof, hands-free liftgate, voice recognition, wireless charging, all the expected safety alerts…pretty much all you'd expect…for a perhaps unexpectedly-low mid $50's starting price.
The proven 310 HP 3.6 liter V6 and GM's 9-speed automatic will hustle you to 60 in under 7 seconds and still get you 18 MPG city and 25 hwy. Deduct only one mpg for all-wheel drive.
Our test XT6 had right at fifteen thousand in options…bringing it to a 70K window sticker…and delivering a level of content on a par with any of Cadillac's European or Asian rivals. We're talking semi-aniline leather in all three rows and a special microfiber suede headliner, computerized high-performance suspension, leather trim in unexpected places, rear-view camera, night and surround vision, upgraded Bose sound, driver AND passenger lumbar, cornering lights and more.
You can even choose from wood, carbon fiber, leather or metal interior trim.
At maybe two thumb drives shorter than BMW's new three-row X7, you can expect to slide Cadillac's XT6 into your garage with no real issues.
So why pick Cadillac over it's obvious competitors?
Well, the XT6 has the content to compete…and the performance, too. And the pricing is right for what you get.
So what does Cadillac have that some of the others don't?
A bit of an "edge". A little attitude, if you will. Nothing over the top, mind you, but just a "Hey…I'm just a little different…look at me". If that speaks to you, you might want to put the XT6 on your list.
