With a busy concert schedule and the 2021-2022 basketball season approaching, the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm arena are getting prepared by holding what they're calling a 'Hiring Draft' this week.

The 3-day event will be held at State Farm Arena inside the new 'True To You' career center Thursday through Saturday.

Camye Mackey is Chief People, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Hawks and State Farm Arena.  Mackey tells Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton there are hundreds of positions available with salaries starting at $15 an hour.

According to Mackey the Hawks and State Farm Arena are always looking at ways that they can be part of the community, and to be a part of the solution when it comes to the skills gap. She says as an organization, they are committed to being a  community asset.

After the inaugural career event, the 'True to You' Career Center will serve as a workforce development center.  "Our hope is truly to decrease the unemployed and underemployed gap by connecting job seekers with quality skills development programs", says Mackey.
