Recently on The WAOK morning Show, special guest host Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler spoke with life and business coach and founder of Girl Boss Life Academy Dr. Marcea Burnette Whitaker to discuss her mission to empower women through her initiative. The conversation highlighted the importance of personal safety and trust in service relationships, sparked by a troubling incident involving a woman at a Tennessee hair salon who faced threats from a stylist over an additional fee.

Dr. Whitaker, a physician specializing in internal medicine, emphasized the significance of building strong, respectful relationships with service providers. She transitioned to discussing her passion for uplifting women who may feel trapped by personal or professional challenges. Drawing from her own experiences with trauma and recovery, she founded the Girl Boss Life Academy to help women break free from self-imposed limitations and realize their potential.

The Academy's approach focuses on three key areas: self-discovery, decision-making, and taking action. Dr. Whitaker stressed the necessity of awareness and the desire for change, particularly for women in difficult relationships or those struggling with self-esteem. By fostering personal growth and confidence, the Academy aims to guide women in creating a fulfilling life.

In addition to her coaching work, Dr. Whitaker is involved with Miss Corporate America, Georgia, which celebrates women's achievements in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings. The program provides a platform for women aged 30 to 60 to share their stories and inspire others, reinforcing the message that women's voices matter.

Dr. Whitaker also promotes workshops and boot camps that focus on turning personal experiences into pathways for success. These initiatives are designed to equip women with the tools they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Through her work, Dr. Whitaker is creating a supportive environment where women can reclaim their narratives and empower each other to succeed.
