Acura has brought back a name that helped define a generation — RSX — and this time it's taking a bold, all-electric leap. Unveiled during Monterey Car Week, the RSX Prototype previews an all-new, in-house–engineered EV set to arrive in production form in 2026.

For Acura, this marks more than just the return of a badge. It's a statement of independence, moving from the GM-based ZDX to a proprietary electric platform, designed and developed by Honda engineers for the next era of Precision Crafted Performance.
Why This One Hits Home
The Integra will always be special to me. The 1990 Integra was the first car I ever bought on my own — and I loved it so much I pushed it beyond its limits and totaled it. I replaced it a year later with a 1991 Integra, which only deepened my connection to the brand.
My wife's first car? An Integra as well, years before we met. That shared Acura connection played its part in bringing us together.

When Acura replaced the Integra with the RSX in 2002, I respected the car's performance, but it never connected with me in quite the same way. This new, reimagined electric RSX feels like a fresh opportunity for it to live in harmony alongside the Integra in Acura's lineup — and maybe even win me over.

What Acura Is Promising
• All-electric architecture: Built on Honda's own EV platform, not GM's Ultium, signaling Acura's future EV independence.
• Dual-motor all-wheel drive with double-wishbone front suspension for sharp, confident handling.
• ASIMO OS software: A new operating system integrating performance tuning, infotainment, and over-the-air updates.
• Built in Ohio at Honda's EV Hub, with production starting in 2026.
• Bidirectional charging capability to power gear or potentially support home energy needs.

Design Highlights
The RSX Prototype blends a coupe-like silhouette with the stance of a performance SUV. Sculpted bodywork, a sleek roofline, and a modern Acura light signature give it a bold, unmistakable presence. Expect the production model to stay true to this vision.
