Hands On/Hands Off!

2023 Infiniti QX 60 Autograph AWD

Let's start with the "Hands-On"

One thing that Infiniti has long been known for is its soft leather-everywhere interiors. If you weren't paying attention, you might think that you're in one of those bespoke six-figure British vehicles. It was almost hard to keep our hands off the diamond-quilted semi-aniline leather in this week's test QX60.

And even better, in the "Autograph" trim, we could reach down, hit the massage switch, and let that soft leather work on our backs as the miles ticked by. If you weren't paying attention, Infinity took its QX to the gym last year. On the outside, you'll see a much more tailored look. And at night, I think you'll really like those thin horizontal taillights.

The QX 60 now has a 295 HP 3.5 liter turbo six and a nine-speed automatic. Power is not an issue. You've got up to 6,000 pounds of towing power…and in our week's test, we evenly split the EPA city/highway mileage ratings with a 22.5 MPG average.

Backing up that 6,000 towing capability is a tow hitch, trailer sway control, a transmission oil cooler, all-wheel-drive, and trailer wiring…all riding on 20" alloys.

What hasn't changed is the QX 60's "garage-able" size. Roughly a foot shorter than Infiniti's larger QX 80, the 60 still seats six or seven…with access to the third row made even easier with a tilting/sliding second row. And that slightly smaller size makes the QX 60 much more manageable in parking lots.

Those in the heated second-row seats will appreciate the panoramic sunroof, but it's in the driver's seat where Infiniti really coddles you. In addition to your heated and cooled leather and 17-speaker sound, you'll find heads-up displays, "look-around-the-corner" LED headlamps, Infiniti's "PROPILOT ASSIST," which uses a combination of radar and cameras to keep you centered in your lane and at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. You'll appreciate Infiniti's Intell Key. It almost knows what you had for breakfast…keeping track of all your favorite settings+ locking/unlocking/starting /pre-warming/cooling etc.

And then you'll get more "coddling" with Infiniti's new "Hands-Off" service. Basic maintenance is covered for three years / 36,000 miles…and many Infiniti dealerships will even pick up your car…take it for service…and return it to you…all as part of the deal.

Pricing starts in the low $50's. Our AWD Autograph version came in at $68,185, including transportation fees…and gave us a vehicle that looked and performed like it could stand up to anything anyone else offers anywhere close to that price range.
