Toby Street, founder of wellness brand CBDeeme, discussed the therapeutic potential of cannabidiol (CBD) products and shared insights on its role in managing stress, anxiety and neurological conditions.
Mary Gill opened up the show with a personal story of how a family member of hers was diagnosed with PANDAS — pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections — experienced severe OCD, anxiety and tics after a strep infection. After trying CBD oil, the family saw rapid improvement.
"We tried it and immediately immediately her disposition changed immediately," She said.
Toby Street explained CBD as cannabidiol, derived from hemp or cannabis plants, which interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system to help regulate sleep, mood, stress, pain and inflammation. He emphasized a key distinction from THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana.
"CBD does not get you high," Toby Street said.
The discussion touched on recent federal developments, including a December executive order by President Donald Trump aimed at increasing medical marijuana and CBD research. Toby Street noted this could open doors for more studies on CBD's benefits.
He also addressed legal considerations, advising travelers to check state laws and carry products with less than 0.3% THC, compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill, along with certificates of analysis. He warned against delta products, variants of THC like delta-8, delta-9 and delta-10, while driving, as they can cause euphoria, and recommended avoiding unregulated items sold at gas stations.
For quality, he urged purchasing U.S.-made products with third-party lab testing. He highlighted options like oils for quick relief and gummies for longer effects, and discussed broad-spectrum CBD to avoid THC detection on drug tests.
He also offered WAOK listeners a 20% discount with promo code "WAOKVIP" at cbdeeme.com and encouraged contacting him at Toby@cbdeeme.com for questions.
